Ojitos Trail

You are in the pinyon- and juniper-covered foothills of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains. If you ride this area in the fall, stop along the trail every now and then to gather a handful of pinyon nuts—they’re tasty and good energy food! Mountain Biking Taos Area provided by Sarah Bennett Alley & Bruce Grubbs, "Mountain Biking New Mexico," Falcon Publishing The Carson National Forest map does not show this ride. You'll need USGS 7.5-minute quads for Taos and Rancho de Taos. Aerobic Level: Moderate; Technical difficulty: Difficult Carson National Forest, Camino Real Ranger District
