You will wind around through the village of Arroyo Hondo before following the Arroyo Hondo River down to where it meets the Rio Grande. Having crossed the Rio Grande by way of the Dunn Bridge, you will climb up on the other side of the gorge where you will have spectacular views to the Sangre de Cristo Mountains and of the entire Taos Valley. Clump grasses, sagebrush, and chamiso dominate this landscape. You may want to take a dip in the river when you reach Dunn Bridge in preparation for your push back up to Arroyo Hondo and your car.
