5. Visualization and Stretching:

Normally during a warm up I’ll advise a rider to find a secluded place where they can stretch and clear their head for the event. Most riders stretch after their initial 15 minute session and before the hard warm ups begin. Usually this process takes 5-10 minutes and allows the rider to fully prepare their mind for the coming effort. Thinking about the course, focusing on thoughts of positive efforts and outcomes, and eliminating thoughts of anxiety or nervousness. Included in this activity is focused deep breathing exercises along with a comprehensive stretching routine that targets the legs, low back and upper body. By seeing yourself doing well you can help bring that to reality.
